Hotel will be free for out-of-town students from Sunday, March 10th through Wednesday, March 13th. IONS® Orlando organizers will take care of all reservations. Attendees will share a room with one other attendee of the same gender.
The hotel will be La Quinta Inn and Suites – Orlando UCF. La Quinta is located roughly two miles from the conference location. Breakfast is provided at the hotel.
There are two airports in the Orlando area, Orlando International Airport (MCO) and Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB). Both are approximately 20 minutes from the hotel.
Available ground transportation includes cabs, Lyft, or Uber. Uber/Lyft from the airports to the hotel costs $25-$35. A cab costs $55-$80. The hotel is within walking distance of the conference venue or an Uber/Lyft from the hotel to the conference venue costs roughly $8. Transportation will be provided to and from the Social Day locations (Kennedy Space Center and Cocoa Beach).
Attendees will be responsible for their own airfare and ground transportation costs. Students are encouraged to seek travel/presentation grants from their home institution. Partial financial support for travel will be provided to select students who are travelling long distances (from the West Coast of the US or countries other than the US). Travel grants will be awarded based on financial need, academic excellence, and grant availability. Attendees can apply for a travel grant during registration. Travel grant decisions will be made by Jan. 11th, 2019.
